Works to enable the opening of the new signal junction on Birmingham Road and resurfacing of the Western Road carriageway was completed on 1st November and vehicular access to the Station has now been diverted via Western Road. The pedestrian access route to the Station has also been diverted and is now connected to the future footway adjacent to Redrow’s (the Cattle Market Site Developer’s) on-site access road.
Widening of the Alcester Road embankment has followed on and lowering and diversion by BT of their duct routes in the north verge of Alcester Road is now expected in January 2014. A new footway on the north side of Alcester Road and a new signalised junction with Redrow’s on-site road will then be constructed, the cycle lanes towards Stratford Centre re-instated and the access to the Medical Centre will be diverted.
Although there has been some delay to the utilities diversion works it is still expected that the works will be completed in the Spring and further progress updates will be issued as the works proceed in the New Year.
