Alcester Road/Station Road
Works are continuing to upgrade access routes in the vicinity of Stratford-upon-Avon Train Station.
Unfortunately National Grid Gas, BT Openreach and Severn Trent Water works to move their underground equipment, to enable the Alcester Road to be widened at the approaches to the new signalised junction to access the Medical Centre and Redrow Homes development, is taking longer than planned. As a result the new junction is not now anticipated to be operational until the end of March this year.
New kerbing and footway paving to the Medical centre frontage onto Alcester Road should then be completed by Easter this year.
A new drainage outfall has had to be installed to drain the new Station Approach footway/cycleway and the paving together with new bus-stops and replacement steps to be installed to Network Rail requirements should then be completed for mid-May this year.
Pedestrian access to the Train Station from the Town Centre remains via the newly constructed Brunel Way and vehicular access continues via the new signal junction of Birmingham Road and Western Road. Diversion signage for these routes has been provided.
